Prophet Muhammad (๏ทบ) is his messenger. The Shahada is a declaration, it adds the phrase ashadualla which means "I bear witness". In Arabic the complete Shahda is written as: ุฃูŽุดู’ู‡ูŽุฏู ุฃูŽู†ู’ ู„ูŽุง ุฅูู„ูŽูฐู‡ูŽ ุฅูู„ูŽู‘ุง ูฑู„ู„ูŽู‘ูฐู‡ู ูˆูŽุฃูŽุดู’ู‡ูŽุฏู ุฃูŽู†ูŽู‘ ู…ูุญูŽู…ูŽู‘ุฏู‹ุง ุฑูŽุณููˆู„ู ูฑู„ู„ูŽู‘ูฐู‡ูโ€Ž The transliteration: Ashhadu alla ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadarrasulullah The four individual words in the phrase lฤ ilฤha illฤ allฤh, have the following meanings: lฤ = no, not, none, neither. ilฤha = an object of worship, adoration or service, a god or deity. ill ฤ = but, except (illฤ is a contraction of in-lฤ, literally if not) allฤh = allฤh. Note: a mark (bar) over a vowel indicates that is a long vowel. It has been handed down to us that Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him, used to insert this phrase into his conversation: he would utter a few words, say la ilaha illa'Llah, and then resume what he was saying. This pertains to the Station of Subsistence (baqa) which follows that of Extinction (fana). .
